AISA – NEWS BULLETIN NOVEMBER 2017

November 15th, 2017 (Brooklyn, NY – Zurich, CH – Bergen, NO)

AISA and EXHORDER Join Forces for Management Services Worldwide!

The legendary American thrash metal band from New Orleans Exhorder are back and we are more than happy to welcome them in our management roster!  Exhorder 2017 reunion is lead by founding members Vinnie LaBella (Guitar) and Kyle Thomas (Vocals) joined by Jason Viebrooks (Heathen) on bass, Marzi Montazeri (ex-Superjoint Ritual, ex-Phil Anselmo & The Illegals) on guitar  and Sasha Horn (Forbidden) on drums.

Lead guitarist and primary songwriter Vinnie La Bella says “Over our 30 year history we have obviously had more than our fair share of struggles. Struggles that have broken us apart on several occasions. Whether those struggles were internal, external or both, no matter the situation, we always find are way back to one another. How? Why? It took me 30 years to realize it’s because the relationships run too deep, the songs are timeless, and the fans are ageless. It’s meant so much to us and so many others. And it’s for these reasons Exhorder CAN’T be broken, even by the hands that created it. Like it or not, love it or hate it, Exhorder is forever and it’s my duty, my honor and privilege to do it again!”

Vocalist Kyle Thomas added, “It would probably be best to never say never for the rest of my life, because I thought that this could not happen again. However, here we are one more time! I am extremely pumped to take the stage yet again with Exhorder to bring to life some of the most classic songs in thrash metal and hardcore history. We will put everything into it as always, doing our best to see to it that no one will ever walk away from an Exhorder show dissatisfied. We’re back!”

2018 will be extremely exciting for the band, as Exhorder will play their three first shows in the US in February and are planning on taking summer festivals by storm! More information about the Exhorder shows below.

Enslaved co-founder and guitar player Ivar Bjørnson comments: “I have always wanted Enslaved to be part of the Decibel Tour concept. Not only is Decibel an institution, and defender of the last line of resistance for the printed metal mag in North America (for a band started in 1991, printed magazines are no small matter), but the Decibel Tour has also become an institution and an icon for metal that we admire here on the other side of the pond. So, to be asked to headline, and to perform with these other very fine artists, is a great honor and a great pleasure. Be there or be trapezoid!”

Also note that Enslaved will return with a second Decibel flexi contribution, which will appear in the annual Decibel Tour issue of the magazine that hits stands February 2018! Stay tuned!

Tickets for the 2018 Decibel Magazine Tour go on sale Friday, October 27 at 10 AM local time and can be found at www.decibelmagazine.com/tour. All dates and venues are below.

06-10-2017 - Enslaved new single and video – “The River’s Mouth”

One week before the release of their new album "E", Enslaved unveils the new single and video "The River's Mouth"!

Ivar Bjørnson explains about the song: “‘The River’s Mouth’ is a quite heavy track, drawing both on our rock roots and of course the foundation of everything awesome: mid-80s, mid-paced Bathory. It also includes some odd space-rock in the choruses and the end part – finally BATHORY and HAWKWIND met. I like the energy of this song a lot – both Cato and new-kid-on-the-chopping-block Håkon is doing such a great job with the psychedelic parts, the chorus and the ending. What a drive! The end sounds like travelling at insane speed through wormholes. The theme here is your relationship with the “future”, as we describe it: The sensation of time moving along is a construction of our brains – physics claims all time to already have been “rolled out”; try wrapping our brains around that one! So the future would be, speaking in tabloid; a piece of land we just haven’t arrived at yet. But it is already here. The song is about acting in tandem with your future self which already arrived at this “future island” – do not sit and wait, make sure you lay the ground for what is to happen in the future, now!”

The video was again created by Josh Graham (SOUNDGARDEN, NEUROSIS)

You can now pre-order the physical editions of the album, out October 13th on Nuclear Blast:

28-09-2017 - Enslaved speak about “E” cover artwork in new album trailer

After discussing the recording process, new keyboarder and album title in the previous trailers, singer and bassist Grutle Kjellson now explains the details of the cover artwork.

Once again designed by Truls Espedal, the cover was handpainted on canvas and Grutle now explains how he initially got to know the artist that ENSLAVED have been working with since “Monumension”. Watch the trailer here:

Grutle remembers: “17 or 18 years ago I lived in Stavanger and was introduced to Truls at a pub on a late Saturday evening. We started to discuss album covers from bands like YES or GENESIS and I remember we were both drunk and seemed to disagree a lot on the definition of a cool album cover. So I said to him ‘If you’re so clever, why don’t you paint the next ENSLAVED cover’ and he said ‘Yeah, count me in’ – so I did!”

Next week, the band will unveil another excerpt of their upcoming album! Stay tuned!

20-09-2017 - Enslaved speak about the “E” recording process in new album trailer

On October 13th, black avantgarde Norwegians ENSLAVED will unleash their 14th album »E« taking the band to fresh and more progressive shores.

Today they unveil the third album trailer, in which guitarist and songwriter Ivar Bjørnson guides you through the recording studio where »E« was created, while singer and bassist Grutle Kjellson explains the band’s working relationship with co-producer Iver Sandøy. Watch the trailer here:

Grutle comments: “The whole recording process took about 3 or 4 weeks. The album is produced like usual by Iver Sandøy, Ivar and myself. The album was mixed by Jens Bogren at the Fascination Street studio in Sweden and this was the 4th time that he did the mix for us and we’re really satisfied about the result – top notch work this time too, buddy!”

Soon the band will unveil another excerpt of their upcoming album, but in case you missed the stunning music video of the 10 minute epic single ‘Storm Son’ animated by Josh Graham [SOUNDGARDEN, NEUROSIS] you can watch it here!

24-08-2017 - Enslaved unveils first album trailer for “E” and announce collaboration with BMG Publishing

On October 13th, true avant-garde Norwegians ENSLAVED will unleash their highly anticipated studio album »E« and herald a new era of their career.

The band’s 14th opus melds mesmerising prog with jarring extreme metal and epic musical landscapes; and today, the band unveils the first album trailer.

Watch as vocalist, bassist and lyricist Grutle Kjellson explains the choice of the seemingly simplistic album title:

ENSLAVED are also pleased to announce a collaboration with BMG Publishing for their upcoming release.

“We are very happy to be joining BMG Publishing!”, states the band. “To be part of such an eclectic roster including GHOST, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and many others will help us spread our wings further on many levels. We are very much looking forward to this corporation.”

24-08-2017 - MYRKUR Interprets Traditional Nordic Folk Song “De Tre Piker”

Renowned Danish composer and classically trained multi-instrumentalist, MYRKUR, unveils her interpretation of traditional Nordic Folk song, "De Tre Piker" today.

Her third single from upcoming album ‘Mareridt’ includes a stunning, lulling vocal performance alongside nyckelharpa (an ancient Swedish key harp), shaman drums and guitar.

On ‘Mareridt’ (translation: Nightmare), MYRKUR explores deeper into the mysterious and the feminine with 11 songs that further progress her visionary blend of metal with gorgeous, stirring melodies, dark folk passages, choral arrangements and superb, horrific beauty. The conceptual masterpiece includes lyrics in multiple languages, an unforgettable collaboration with Chelsea Wolfe and an array of special instrumentation including violin, mandola, folk drums, nyckelharpa (an ancient Swedish key harp), and Kulning (an ancient Scandinavian herding call).

Like a marriage of King Diamond’s ‘Them’ with Tchaikovsky’s ‘Swan Lake’,‘Mareridt’ is a carefully composed concept freed from genre – a profound manifestation of nightmares that demonstrates MYRKUR as one of the truly exceptional artists of our time. The compositions sweep into one another like a soundtrack designed to guide the listener through emotional turmoil.  Timeless, triumphant, powerful and hypnotic, ‘Mareridt’ is a sonic nightmare that you never want to escape.
